The planed complex tends to raise capital through equity and debt markets. The sixty per cent is to be owned by Melco International development ltd. The complex was to be opened in mid 2008. Macau is an island that returned to Chinese control from the Portuguese power in the year 1999. Since then the region has benefited a lot from guests visiting the place. It is not far from Hong Kong as it will only take you one hour using a boat to reach there.
Proposed resort will be located on Cotai strip to attract more visitors than 16.7 million attracted last year. Australian Kerry Packer and casino mogul Stanley Ho Hung sun will team up to build the massive complex. The underwater casino is to compete with another massive planned complex to be built by Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Las Vegas sands corporation on their part plan to build Macau casino, shopping mall and hotels. Their approximated cost of the entire casino will be $ 15 billion.
